VIOLINIST
Born in 1995, David began studying the violin at the age of six under Professor Andrej Porcelan, and continued his studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Clermont-Ferrand in the class of Hélène Friberg-Chenot. At the age of fourteen, he was admitted unanimously to the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music and Dance, to the class of Boris Garlitsky and Igor Volochin in violin, and to the class of Itamar Golan, François Salque, Marc Coppey, and Claire Désert in Chamber music.
BIOGRAPHY
David Petrlik, born in 1995, began studying the violin at the age of six under Professor Andrej Porcelan, and continued his studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Clermont-Ferrand in the class of Hélène Friberg-Chenot. At the age of fourteen, he was admitted unanimously to the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music and Dance, to the class of Boris Garlitsky and Igor Volochin in violin, and to the class of Itamar Golan, François Salque, Marc Coppey, and Claire Désert in Chamber music. In 2015, he obtained the master’s degree with high honors and got in the Konzertexamen class in the Art University of Essen. The same year, he participated to the Seiji Osawa International Music Academy of String Quartet in Switzerland, where he worked and played with musicians as Pamela Franck, Nobuko Imaï, Sadao Harada and Seiji Ozawa, the founder.
2016 is a significant step in his young carrier : David is selected by Gidon Kremen to take part in the « Chamber music connects the world » program where he played with Steven Isserlis, Christian Tetzlaff and Gidon Kremer.
David has won several first prizes, at the Jaroslav Kocian, and Flame International Competitions. He is also Prize winner at the Andrea Postachinni Competition in Italy, Ginette Neveu Competition in France and at the IV International Jascha Heifetz Competition for violinists, in Vilnius, along with the audience prizes. In 2017, he also won the Prize "André Hoffmann" for the best interpretation of the Piece of Mr Toshio Hosokawa with Alexandre Kantorow at the Festival "les Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad" in Switzerland. David is recently Prize winner of the Felix Mendelssohn Competition in Berlin.
He is also Prize winner in 2013 of the Rodolfo Lipizer International Violin Competition, in Gorizia, Italy, along with the „Giuliano Pecar“ Prize for the best performance of a virtuosic work. He is also laureate of the Safran Foundation, the Adami Foundation and the Huguet Bourgeois scholarship from the “Fondation de France”.
He has given recitals in many European countries and played as a soloist with orchestras as the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, Moravian Philarmonic Orchestra Olomouc, Chamber Philharmonic Pardubice, Staatorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, Mannheim Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, the "Orchestre d’Auvergne", the" Orchestre Lyrique du Théâtre d’Avignon", the "Orchestre de Caen"...
David has played as a soloist and chamber musician in the most prestigious concert hall as the « Grande Salle Pierre Boulez » of the Paris Philharmony, the « Auditorium du Louvre » in Paris, The Auditorium of "La Seine Musicale" in Paris, the « Victoria Hall » in Geneve, the « Smetana Hall » in Prag, the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, the « National Philarmonic Hall » in Vilnius, the « Peterhouse » Theater in Cambridge, the Concert Hall in Xi’an, the « Beethoven » Hall in Bonn, the Festival of « la Roque d’Anthéron », the « Bratislava Music Festival », the « Festival de Pâques » and « Août musical » in Deauville, « the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu », the Festival « Printemps des Alizés » and the « Festival du Périgord Noir »... He has played chamber music with musicians as Nicholas Angelich, Gidon Kremer, Philippe Jaroussky, Steven Isserlis, Christian Tetzlaff, Karine Deshayes, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, Itamar Golan, Marc Coppey, Claire Désert, Eric Le Sage, Boris Garlitsky, Emmanuel Strosser, François Salque, Jonas Vitaud, Raphaël Sévère, Amaury Coeytaux, Guillaume Bellom, Vassily Sinaïsky, Laurent Martin and Thomas Hoppe...
David is artist resident of the Foundation “Singer-Polignac” with the “Ensemble Messiaen” composed of Raphaël Sévère, Théo Fouchenneret and Volodia van Keulen. He is also artist resident of the Foundation “Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz”. He has benefitted from the wise advice of Leonidas Kavakos, Pinchas Zukerman, Vadim Repin, Antje Weithaas, Renaud Capuçon, Mihaela Martin, and Vadim Gluzman at various master classes. David’s repertoire is vast, extending from Baroque to contemporary music.
David plays on a P. Guarnerius violin “ex Schubert” of 1702, graciously lent by the Foundation “Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz”. In 2017, David will make his debut recital at the « Grande Salle Pierre Boulez » of the Paris Philharmony, at the Festival "les Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad" in Switzerland, and in chamber music at the « Auditorium du Louvre » in Paris. In 2016, David received the Prize "André Boisseaux" and his first recording will be released on September 2017 with the "Soupir label", it is recorded with Itamar Golan at the piano and it is a french music repertory composed of C. Debussy, O. Messiaen, P. Boulez and M. Ravel.
